Revengeance is a Dish Best Served Milolotold

See what I did there? It's a mish mash of mild, cool, hot, and cold. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has taken making sense and slashed it to teensy-weensy pieces, so why should I care if the title of this post is nonsensical? You're welcome.

Seriously though, Revengeance is looking alright by me, but you know, I'm a fan of fast-paced flashy action games with questionable story content. It's beginning to look a bit like what I had hoped Ninja Gaiden III would be, but fell laughably short at. Though the Metal Gear Solid games have normally woven complex storylines, I can't help but question Raiden's Platinum-powered spinoff. But fuck it, cutting concrete pillars and people in half in one stroke; like.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Dares You to Press Start

This is the title screen for upcoming Konami/Kojima/Platinum love child Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. I've created posts for less.

While it tells us absoltely nothing about the upcoming slash-and-flash fest, Raiden is looking pretty good, which at the very least is what I expect from this mess. Revengeance (no definition) will be playable at E3, so expect some new details and trailers in the coming weeks.

    E3: Metal Gear Solid: Rising

I haven't played a Metal Gear Solid game since the first half of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Go ahead and hate on that little fact. I enjoyed the hell out of the first MGS, but to me, they just seemed to tail off after that. I was underwhelmed with the first half of MGS2, and decided not to continue for two reasons; 1, because I played it at my friend's house, and 2, because I felt like I had better things to play. I had become disenchanted with the stealth action genre when the action aspect of it took a back seat. That's why I'm so excited for MGS: Rising.

Kojima will do with this game what he does for his other games. Involved story, great cinematics (though hopefully more gameplay than cinematic this time around,) meticulous attention to detail. Add to the Kojima formula for success a few touches of awesome: swords, destructible environments, gore, bullet time. Yes, if Tomonobu Itagaki and Hideo Kojima made love, their child would look something like this.
